Winthrop News. Mrs. Anna Crowe, 80, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 9:15 at her farm home south of Masonville. She was born near Winthrop, Ia., on February 28, 1863, the daughter of Patrick and Bridget Kelly and lived her entire lifetime in this community. In 1894 she was united in marriage with Patrick Crowe, who died in 1914. Mrs. Crowe was a devout member of St. Patrick's Catholic church at Monti.
Surviving are two children - one daughter, Mrs. Leo Downing, Greene; and a son, John J. Crowe, SIC of the U.S. navy stationed at San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Jas Gaffney of Winthrop, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 in St. Patrick's church, Monti, with Fr. Wm. J. McGovern officiating. Burial was was made in the Monti Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were Thos. Doyle, Bernard Loughren, Leo Cashman, Walter Moroney, Frank Keegan and Dale Ryan.
Friends of the family extend sincere sympathy to them in their sorrow.
