Bill was born March 30, 1923 near Purdy, Iowa to Charles and Alice Bingham. He graduated from Chariton High School in 1941 and attended Brush College near Purdy. He was married to Marjorie Stansbery November 11, 1942.
He joined the Army in April 1943 and served until December 1945 serving in the many battles in the European Theater.
Bill worked for the Chicago Bridge and Iron Company and traveled around to different jobs sites for several years; Marjorie and Bill ran a cafe' in Chariton; and Bill retired from the VA Medical Center in Knoxville for 20 years. Through all his jobs he reamined active in farming.
Bill was preceded in death by his son Dennis in 1969; and by five siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his son, MICHAEL (Pat) Bingham of Chariton, his daughters; BRENDA (Jim) Miner of Cambria, CINDY (Steve) Evans of Des Moines and CATHY (Wayne) Towle of Chariton, his sister SARAH (Charles) McGhee of San Diego, along with eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
