Johann WILHELM Otte was born in Franklin Twp., Mercer County. Elisa Sollman was born at Brookville, Indiana to Christian & Marie (Meyer) Sollman.

After their marriage, Wm. & Elisa lived on the Auglaize-Mercer Co. line. Around 1900, they moved to 10 acres 1-1/2 miles west of New Bremen on the south side of Rt. 274.

On 11/7/1906, they moved in with their daughter, Lizzie Kuenning, 3 miles north of New Bremen, as her husband had died in June. They also owned property on the SW corner of Washington & Cherry Sts. in New Bremen.

William died of an asthma attack accompanied by heart failure while taking a walk on the barnyard. Elisa died at the home of Lizzie Kuenning. Two of their 9 childen preceded them in death.
