Mrs. Della Rhodes Carter, 85, of Route 1. died Wednesday at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Stokes County.

Surviving are her husband, James Richard Carter, four daughters, Mrs. Doris Hughes and Mrs. Henry Wilkins, both of Rt. 1 Sandy Ridge. Mrs. Earl Reid of Walnut Cove and Mrs. Lonnie Beck of High Point; three sons, Charles Carter of Rt. 1 Madison. James Carter of Walnut Cove and Royal Carter of Mayodan; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Vernon of Summerfield, and Mrs. Yancy Trout of Greensboro; four brothers, Don Rhodes of Summerfield, Will Rhodes of Mayodan, Jim Rhodes of High Point and Tom Rhodes of Johnson City, Tenn.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Ray Funeral Home.
