Obit - Minster Post - March 19, 1961

Fred J. Clune, aged 63, of Minster R.R. 1, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday at his residence three and a half mile northeast of Maria Stein. He had been ill five years and five weeks. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Clune was a lifelong residence of Mercer County and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John Church at Maria Stein and a member of St. Joseph and Holy Name Societies. Funeral services were conducted in the church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Requiem High Mass was celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. George Kraft. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery. Born at St. Rose September 7, 1897, he was the son of Herman and Christina Clune. He and Stella Holdheide were married June 14, 1922. Surviving Mr. Clune are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Vera) Gudorf and Mrs. Oscar (Edna) Stueve, both of Dayton, Mrs. Cletus (Velma) Heitbrink and Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Schwieterman, both of Maria Stein; four sons, Elmer of Buffalo, N.Y., Ernest of Lima, Leonard at home, and Robert of Cleveland; 19 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ed. (Rose) Bohman of Minster, and a brother, Clarence, of Maria Stein. Arrangements were in charge of Hogenkamp Funeral Home.
