He was the son of Fred and Stella (Holdheide) Clune. On Nov 24, 1956, in Montezuma, he married Alma E. Steinke, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Jane (Ron) Phlipot, Troy, Nancy (Wally) Wagner, Minster; a son, Rick, Piqua; a brother, Bob (Susan), Minster; a sister, Vera Gudorf, Tipp City; three sisters-in-law: Ann Clune, Denver CO, Phyllis Clune, Buffalo, NY, and Delores Schwieterman, Maria Stein; and ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers: Elmer and Ernie; three sisters linked below; and a brother-in-law, Merlin 'Pete' Gudorf.
A graduate of St. John High School and a lifelong farmer, he was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Maria Stein American Legion and VFW and a past commander of the American Legion. He was a member of the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, and avid card player and loved fishing and hunting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will take place in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein.
