Elzina M. "Tilly" (Cates Fuller) Gwinn, 79, formerly of Middle River, MD died Thursday October 23, 2008 at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ following surgery.

She was born December 10, 1928, in Togus, ME, daughter of the late George S. and Agatha M. (Hatch) Cates, Sr.

She graduated from Kents Hills School in Kents Hill, ME. Tilly was a military wife and traveled extensively and developed a lifelong wanderlust. She worked for several years at Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore County, MD as both a mental health technician and a unit clerk.

She was preceded in death by her first husband William Fuller, and her second husband Roy L. Gwinn. Also by three brothers, Kenneth Cates, formerly of Kents Hill, ME; Gilbert (Claire) Cates, formerly of Tucson, AZ and Gleason (Maybelle) Cates, formerly of Kents Hill, ME.

Tilly is survived by her son Thomas (Rita) Fuller, of Sparks, NV, and two daughters, Lorraine (Gerald) Gosnell, of Middle River, MD; and Terry (Tim) Marshall, of Hempstead, MD; five grandchildren; and through her travels a large extended family.

She is also survived by three sisters, Nellie (Earle) Renwick, of Jacksonville, FL; Rachel (Lee) Gordon, of Riverdale, MD; Geneva (Emile) Quade, of San Antonio, TX, and her brother, George S. (Marilyn Jean) Cates Jr., of Bergman, AR.

Following a private family graveside service on November 10, Tilly's cremains will be interned with her late husband Roy L. Gwinn at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
