Theda E. Phillips, 95
ANDERSON - Theda E. Phillips, 95, Anderson, passed away Dec. 28, 2003, at Community Northview Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 13, 1908, in Liberty, Ky., the daughter of Sanders L. and Gertrude Brown Edwards. She taught school in Casey County, Ky., before moving to Anderson in 1943, then becoming a homemaker.
Theda attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by five children, Phyllis Harless and Odie "Jay" Phillips (wife: Annettee), both of Anderson, Jack Phillips (wife: Shirley) of Frankton, Anita Jenkins of Chesterfield and Dixie Carpenter (husband: Rick) of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Grooms of Columbus, Ohio, and Virginia Freeman and Frances Smither, both of Liberty, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie C. Phillips; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Brother Donald Cruikshank officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours before the service.
