A retired Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Army, Mr. Richter was born October 21, 1914 in Luckendorf, Germany to Edmund and Minna Richter. Prior to joining the U.S. Army, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Nebraska. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the U.S. Civil Service in Yokohama, Japan. Mr. Richter was a 67-year member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed fishing and watercolor painting.
Survivors include his wife, Yasuko Richter; daughter, Bertina Richter of Fresno, CA; a son, Michael S. Richter of Hawthorne, CA and four sisters. The family would like to thank the wonderful people from Covenant Hospice who cared for Mr. Richter during his final illness.
