Retha Rand was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Elizabeth, Ark. She moved to North Plains in 1954 and to Forest Grove in 1984. She was a homemaker and also a cannery worker at Birds Eye Cannery in Hillsboro.
Survivors include her daughters, Helen Ridgeway, Ellen Smith and Glenda Goddard; sisters, Beula Hester, Agnes Wilson, Josephine Watts, Lula Fry and Irene Friend; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her son Jerry died in 1996.
