Kenneth C. Green, 78, of Altoona and formerly of Sheboygan, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.
He was born in the town of Ludington, Eau Claire County, on May 4, 1930, a son of Percy and Loretta (Clark) Green. Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 11, 1952. He worked as an industrial sweeper for Kohler Company plumbing manufacturing until his retirement on June 1, 1992. Ken married Monica Howe at Faith Lutheran Church on May 16, 1953, in St. Paul, Minn.
Ken is survived by his two sons, Kenneth M. (Sherry) Green of Sheboygan Falls and Robert (Rhonda) of Kentucky; his daughter, Debbie (Mark) Hartmann of Sheboygan Falls; two grandsons, Allen and Joseph; a granddaughter, Pamela; a great-granddaughter, Abigail; two brothers, Gary (Dianne) Green of Eau Claire and Gerald (Rita) Green of Stanley; his sister, Lois Seehaver of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Barbara Green of Eagan, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Monica, in 1992; three sons, David, Jeffrey and Edwin; and two brothers, James and Laverne.
His children thank their uncle and aunt, Gary and Dianne Green, for their special care for Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Pastor Russell Kampfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Johannes Cemetery at Centerville. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to services at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 3031 Epiphany Lane, Eau Claire.
Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services, Eau Claire, is serving his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are desired in Ken's name.
