George Daniel "Badass" Hallock was the son of John Addison Hallock and Catherine E. (Crane) Hallock. He married Lucile Norton.

"Hon. John Addison Hallock married Catherine, daughter of Daniel and Ann (Echman) Crane.
. . . There was an unusual amount of gun play in this family. The son, Charles, was accidentally wounded by a mob in Colorado; George shot and killed Colbert Strahl (leader of the Crooked Creek Gang) and at the same time wounded Jesse Millhollin near Oakfield [Audubon County], in 1883; Willis was shot and seriously wounded in Elkhorn the same year, in the celebrated horse thief mob case, and Frank was afterwards shot and killed in Colorado."

"George Hallock, Retired Delta Railroader, Dies.

Delta, Feb. 14. George D[aniel] Hallock, 76, veteran D. & R. G. W. conductor who was retired from active service 10 year ago, passed away at 10:50 last night at his home at 311 Eton avenue [in Delta]. Deceased had made Delta his home for the past 15 years or more, as he was for year a conductor running between Delta and Grand Junction.

Mr. Hallock entered the services of the D. & R. G. W. at Salida in 1889 as a brakeman and was later promoted to the position of conductor. He was for years conductor on a passenger run between Grand Junction and Montrose. He continued to make Delta his home following his retirement.

Mr. Hallock is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucy Hallock who has been in Martinez, Cali[fornia], and a son [brother], R[aymond] I[saac] Hallock, conductor on the Mountaineer on the run between Grand Junction and Montrose.

The body is now at the Lamar Funeral Home. No arrangements will be completed for the funeral service until it is known when Mrs. Hallock will reach Delta from California."

"George Hallock Rites at Delta.

Delta, Feb. 17. Services for the late George D[aniel] Hallock, retired veteran D. & R. G. W. passenger conductor who died late last week at his home in Delta, were held Monday afternoon from the Lamar Chapel in Delta. The service was conducted by the Rev. Evans, pastor of the Nazarene church. The body will later be taken to Grand Junction for cremation.

Mrs. Lucy Hallock, widow, and R[aymond] I[saac] Hallock, brother to the deceased and also a veteran D. & R. G. W. passenger conductor, are in Delta for today's service. Mrs. Hallock arrived over the weekend from California where she had been for some time past."
