Scott City--funeral was this morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City, for W. C. Mayer, 72, Scott City, who died Saturday at the Scott County Hospital after a long illness. Additional services will be at 10 a.m. (MST) tomorrow, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Ordway, Colo. Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Crowley County, Colo.
Born July 9, 1894, at Clara, he married Grace Collins, Sept. 9, 1919 at Cuba. She died in 1962.
He had lived most of his life in Crowley County, where he farmed. He moved to Ordway, Colo., in 1951, and to Scott City in 1965.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Sefton, Aurora, Colo,; a son, Charles W., Scott City; six sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 8 tonight at the Weinmann-Price Funeral Home, Scott City.
