Jack Faggart gained notoriety as a wrestler in Memphis during the 1960s and 70s. He went by the ring-names of Sonny Fargo, Roughhouse Fargo, and Nuthouse Fargo. Teamed with his real brother, Henry Faggart, known professionally as wrestler Jackie Fargo, they won tag-team titles on numerous occasions. He later was a wrestling referee for Jim Crockett Promotions.

CHINA GROVE, NC - Jack Lewis Faggart Sr, 80, of 58 Central Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at his home. Born July 20, 1928, in Rowan County, he was son of the late Lewis and Delma Swink Faggart. Educated in the Rowan County schools, he was a faithful member of Landis Baptist Church. Mr. Faggart retired from Jim Crockett Productions as a professional wrestler under the name of Sonny "Roughhouse" Fargo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Tutherow Faggart, in 1999; brother Robert Faggart; and sister Kathleen Orbison. Survivors include son Obie Faggart of China Grove; daughter Debbie Parson and husband James of Kannapolis; brother Jackie Fargo of China Grove; and grandchildren Nikki and Chris Parson. Service 3 p.m. Sunday at Landis Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Honeycutt officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home on Central Avenue. Memorials Landis Baptist Church, 110 N.
