Thelma JOYCE Wheeler Ferril, age 60, of Amarillo, Texas, died Monday, June 14, 2004.

Joyce was born in Shamrock, Texas, May 13, 1944 to Horace and Gussie Wheeler and grew up in Twitty, Texas. She married Lonnie Leon Ferril in 1960 and they moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1961 from Shamrock. They had owned Cherry Avenue Auto Salvage since 1963, T-Miller Wrecker Service since 1965 and Amarillo Auto Crushing since 1998. She was the current president of Tascosa Country Club Women's Golf Association.

She was preceded in death by a son, William David Lee Ferril, II; and her parents, Horace and Gussie Wheeler.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie, of the home; two sons, Lonnie Ferril, Jr., and wife, Jeni, and Byron Ferril and wife, Laverna, both of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Jody Barrett of Muleshoe, Texas, and Donald Wheeler of Lubbock, Texas, and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Crime Stoppers, PO Box 1843, Amarillo, TX 79105.

Services under direction of Rector Funeral Home, Amarillo, Texas.
