Frances E. Starr Frost, 86, of Toms River died on Friday Oct. 31 at her home. Mrs. Frost was born in Englewood and had lived in Nutley, Pompton Plains and Lanoka Harbor before moving to Toms River in 2005. Frances was a bookkeeper for TRW of Fairfield for many years before retiring in 1986. During WWII, she had worked as a riveter for B-24 bomber plant in Willow Run, Mich. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening and fishing with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Ryan in 2006. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, William W. Frost; one son, Bill Frost, of Pequannock; two daughters, Patricia Cooke and her husband, Robert, of Pompton Plains, and Susan Crozier and her husband, Thomas, of Pompton Plains. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Riggs Funeral Home, 130 N. Rt 9, Forked River. A funeral Liturgy will be offered from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 300 Lacey Rd., at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Embracing Hospice Care of NJ, 2101 Hwy 34, Wall, NJ 07719.
