His daughter, Hannah (Alexander) married William Dewoody who built, and operated the first Inn in the State of Tennessee. The Dewoody Inn (no longer exist) use to stand in Greeneville. Another descendant of John Alexander is former Gov. Lamar Alexander, now US Senator
