Her mutilated body was found in an abandoned mine pit near Cripple Creek, Colorado in June 1933. She was supposedly murdered by Charles W. Neal. She resigned a job position with the intention of marrying Mr. Neal.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanson. She came to Osceola with her parents when an infant. She completed school, then attended Bryant College, also Peru Normal and Fremont Normal. She taught school for several years. She held the position of bookkeeper in several stores, and later owned and operated millinery establishments in Osceola and Stromsburg. The last 2 years she was manager of the millinery department at Schweiser's in Columbus.
She leaves one brother and six sisters to mourn her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister (Mrs. W. O. Johnson).
Funeral held April 7, 1935 at the M. E. (Methodist) Church.
