OBITUARY

Jennie C. Hanson was born on November 12, 1875, at Galva, Illinois to Peter and Britta Hanson. She passed away quietly in her home in Stromsburg, Nebraska, on the morning of November 28, 1959, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 16 days. While still a little girl she moved with her parents to a homestead home northwest of Stromsburg where she attended rural school. She was united in marriage with John Alfred Anderson at the farm home of her parents on June 21, 1899. Since that time they have made their home in the same house in Stromsburg for over 60 years. Two sons were born to this union, Wilbur L. and A. Milton. She was a member of the Stromsburg Methodist Church and a charter member of the F.F.A. class and was awarded a membership in the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church in 1953. She became a member of Rob Morris Chapter 192 Order of Eastern Star, July 11, 1911, and later served as Worthy Matron. Surviving are her husband, J.A. Anderson, Stromsburg; two sons, Wilbur L., Reading, Pa., and A. Milton, Stromsburg; and two grandsons, Lt. John A., Fort Bragg, N.C., and W. Leroy, Minneapolis, Minn.; and four sisters, Mrs. Esther Baum, Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. M.M. Oquist, Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Charlotte Van Horn, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Alma Benda, Stromsburg, Nebraska. Services were held at Methodist Church, Stromsburg, Nebraska, on Tuesday, December 1, 1959, at 2:00p.m. with the Reverend Lester V. Anderson officiating. Music was given by Mrs. Rudy Randell, Mrs. Harry Kreis, Mrs. Quentin Torrell, and Mrs. Dwight Newcomer, organist. Pallbearers were Dr. L.V. Sharp, A.E. Rodine, Edwin E. Anderson, Carol Rystrom, Forrest Berggren, and Glen Knerr. Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery
