Alice L. Cougler was born July 27, 1929, in Heuvelton, daughter of Sterling and Pearl McCrea Johnson. She attended Heuvelton Central School.
She married Stanley W. Couglar on Aug. 9, 1947, at Heuvelton Methodist Church with the Rev. Edwin C. Seaman officiating.
Mrs. Cougler and her husband operated the family farm at Rensselaer Falls for many years. She then was a certified residential aide for 10 years for United Helpers Nursing Home, Ogdensburg.
Mrs. Cougler was a past member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), Rensselaer Falls Grange and St. Lawrence County Cooperative Extension. She enjoyed card games, crafts and scrapbooking and was a 4-H leader for many years.
