He was born in Mercer County, Ky., on the 10th of September, 1798. He was married to Mary Noel in 1822, who was a native of Washington County Ky., and was born December 30, 1800. They have lived together 59 years. In 1826 he entered the land on which he died. In 1827 he removed to Parke County, when comparatively a wilderness, built a small log cabin and lived in it until the year 1842, when he erected a brick mansion in which he lived until his death. … There are six children now living, and all were present at the departure of the father.
