Born July 31, 1933., in Tippecanoe County, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Mabel R. Tribble Ferguson.
He was a graduate of Battle Ground High School.
He married Barbara R. Jones on March 30, 1953, in Battle Ground. She survives.
Mr. Ferguson was a tool and die maker for Landis & Gyr, formerly Duncan Meter.
A veteran of the Navy, serving from Aug. 12, 1952 until July 25, 1956, he was stationed on the USS Rockbridge and was a gunners mate second class when he was discharged.
He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 492, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154 and 40&8 Voiture 364 of Lafayette.
His hobbies were playing golf, being in the sun, all sports, especially Purdue and the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Marsha McHenry (husband: Mike) of Speedway and Wendy Moore of Fishers; and three sisters, Rosemary Eileen Minniear (husband: Homer) and Phyllis Taylor (husband: Thomas E.), both of Lafayette, and Ruth' Elizabeth Holt (husband: Harry O.) of Missouri. Also surviving are grandchildren, Thomas McHenry, Melanie McHenry, Bradley Moore, Levi Moore and" Justin Moore.
Preceded in death by his brothers, his twin Jon Dee Ferguson, and Clinton E., Charles Jr., William Howard, Glen Duane and Rex Wayne Ferguson; and sister, Edith Joanne Carpenter.
His favorite dog was Muffy.
