Actor-Screenwriter. Jesse was a young actor and singer from Oklahoma who was chosen for the part of Conrad Birdie in the national stage company of the hit musical " Bye, Bye Birdie." The producers of the film liked Jesse's performance enough to cast him in the same role for the 1963 movie.


Despite excellent reviews for his work in "Birdie" Jesse, like many actors in Hollywood, found it difficult to get other acting jobs. He released a single on RCA, "Talk to Me Baby" and was featured on the "Bye, Bye, Birdie" soundtrack album. A small part of the film "Don't Go Near the Water" followed as did guest spots on several TV series.


Born Bobby Wayne Pearson born in Seminole Oklahoma, took the stage name Jesse Pearson was a singer, actor, writer, and director. He was tall, handsome, and had that smooth-sounding southern voice.


He appeared with Ann Margret, Janet Leigh, and Dick Van Dyke, in the movie "Bye Bye Birdie". The pop singer appears in small town USA and takes a liking to Ann Margaret playing the part of the teen fan. Jesse appeared in movies, television shows, and on record. His television shows included Andy Griffith, McHales Navy, Death Valley, Beverly Hillbillys, some westerns, and a stage performance as himself on "The Ed Sullivan Show". Jesse also narrated Rod McKuen's LP called "The Sea and Sea Trilogy," with the San Sebastian Springs String in 1966.


After being diagnosed with cancer, Jesse moved to Monroe Louisiana to be near his Mother, and there he passed away.


Jesse was a singer, writer, and director, and had never received the credit he deserved as an entertainer and filmmaker. As Rod McKuen stated in an interview about Jesse," Jesse Pearson was a very talented man and deserved a much longer and bigger career than he had".
