Pete was the third-born of her parents' five children. All five children were girls, and two died as infants while the family was living in Runnels County. At some time after 1930, Charlie and Lydia and their three daughters moved to Tom Green County. Pete would live in Tom Green County the rest of her life.
On April 6, 1936, when she was 17, Pete married 30-year-old Jessie Luther "Luther" Rogers in Tom Green County. The couple had one daughter, born in 1937, whom they named Lyda Joan "Joan" Rogers.
When Pete was 60, her husband Luther Rogers died. Tragedy struck again when Pete was 79. On August 28, 1998, her only child Joan Rogers Uherik died.
Pete died at the age of 82 on April 21, 2001, in San Angelo, Tom Green County. She was buried in Fairmount Cemetery. Her husband Luther had been buried there in 1978. Her sister Esta Mae Fulcher Leonard had been buried there in 1988. And her beloved daughter Joan was buried there in 1998.
