An autopsy showed Benny Rubidoux, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rubidoux, 815 S. Greenwood St., died of asphyxiation, said Deputy Coroner Leo B. Reyes.
The baby's father, 32, was quoted by police as saying he found the baby face down about 4 a.m. When he turned him over, he said, he found a baby blanket crammed down his throat.
Benny was pronounced dead on arrival at San Antonio Community Hospital, Upland, at 4:35 a.m. Reyes said he had cuts and scrapes about the face and head when examined at the hospital.
The couple has three other children.
