HOLD LAST RITES FOR M. HULTGREN

Well Known Resident Of Union County Killed In Accident Sept. 18th

Michael Augustine Hultgren was born December 23, 1878, of parents, John and Anna Munson Hultgren, at Beresford, S.D., of a family of five children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The most of his life was spent in the Garland and Spink communities of Union county, S.D. It was in this community that on May 9, 1900, at her parents' home, he was united in marriage with Christine Eleanor Carlson. This union was blessed with six children.

Farming has been his occupation until a year and a half ago, when the family moved to Beresford, where they have resided since. His untimely passing came September 18, 1940, at 11:30 a.m., from an accident sustained while at work three miles south of Alcester, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and a granddaughter. Always a fond, devoted and indulgent husband and father, he leaves to mourn his untimely passing, his wife, Christine, and six children—Eleanora (Mrs. Raymond Hamilton), Julius and Milford, of Alcester, S.D.; Clayton, Violet (Mrs. Fisher and Eldon), of Beresford; one Brother, Elmer and sister, Mrs. William Ericson, of Akron, Ia.; nine grandchildren, Loraine and Merlo Hultgren; Lucille, Russell, Anita May, Marlys and Delores Hamilton; Lavella Hoard and Marlene Fisher.

His age at his going home was 61 years, 8 months and 25 days. Peace to his memory.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, at 1 o'clock in the Wass chapel at Beresford and at 2 o'clock in the Union Creek Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. S.H. Shurtleff and Rev. E.A. Anderson. Interment was in the Union Creek cemetery. The pallbearers were Ed. Lewison, Herman Jacobs, Sr., Gerdy Groon, C.A. Hamilton, Harry Ball and Richard Ball.
