EASLEY, Jan 30 – Miss Cornelia Turner, 21, better known to her many friends as "Pete" died at the family home, 7 Ellison Street, Alice Mill at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon after an illness of several days duration. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Turner and was a native and lifelong resident of Pickens County. The family had made their home at the Alice Mill for the past several years. She was employed in the card room of the Alice mill and attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church at the Alice Mill. Surviving are her parents, five brothers, Charles G. W. Ernest, Joe and Furman Turner; six sisters, Mrs. J. C. Howard, Mrs. Jim Young, Mrs. Jack Tate and Misses Frances, Sara and Caroline Turner, all of Easley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. at the Alice Wesleyan Methodist Church. Rev. O. B. Steward, Rev. A. J. Tant and Rev. Charlie Candler will officiate and the interment will be made in the family plot in the Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery. The following will serve as active pallbearers and were asked to meet at the home at 3:20 p.m.: J. T. Durham, Felce Reese, Bud Williams, Bill Phillips, Henry Stewart and Ansel Pearson. The following will compose the escort of honor and were asked meet at the church at 3:45 p.m.: Jake Moore, Joe McNelly, J. C. Mulkey, B. H. Bowen, Jack Lesley, E. Y. Phillips, Jones Parkins, J. E. Bigham, Bill McJunkin, E. H. Atkins, Clinton Hampton, Eldon Lewis and Dock Watson. The body is at the home.
