Mrs. Taylor, age 86, died at Fellowship Manor Nursing Home, Lexington, and services were held in the Conner-Roberts Chapel, Purcell,OK, with the Rev. Orville Denman officiating.

Spending her early life in AR as a teacher, she moved to Lexington in 1906 and in 1907, the year of OK statehood, she became the first teacher at the Johnson School, northwest of Purcell.

On Jan. 20, 1910, in Lexington, she married Matthew Grant Taylor, born: 18 NOV 1884, Lampasas, Lampasas Co., TX., and they moved to the Fairview community where they lived many years. She was a charter member of the FF Club of 1928 and a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. In 1957, she was selected Pioneer Woman of Oklahoma.

Survivors include: her husband, M. G.,Sr.; daughters, Mrs. Ray Jones, Purcell; Mrs. Clay Dockery, Pauls Valley; Mrs. James Sorrels, OKC; sons, M.G., Jr. and Jack Blackwell, Purcell; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were: Baxter Mitchell, B. H. Bacon, Athan West, Bill Wyatt, Jr., George Parker, and James Atchley.

Honorary bearers were: Ual Baker, Bill Wyatt, Sr., Arthur Mooney, Bill Atchley, Omer Lockmiller, Herbert Killgore, and Ed Mainord.
