The family of Lois Lee "Granny" Tomlinson will celebrate 85 years of her life at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Hammons Funeral Home Chapel in Littlefield.
Lois was born Jan. 29, 1919 in Waldrip to the late Ada and Travis Bundick. She was the 5th child of 13 brothers and sisters. In 1939, she married Oscar Tomlinson. They began their family and life together for the next 47 years, until Oscar's passing in 1986. Lois Lee stayed at home and doted on her husband and five children. Later in life, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated from South Plains School of Nursing in 1964 and began serving others with love and compassion for over 30 years.
Some of her favorite memories were of placing the babies of Lamb County into the nursery and then watching those babies become young men and women. Overtime, Granny had nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Our Granny loved each one of us as if we were the only grandchild alive. Granny buried two sons, Bob and Oscar Lee Tomlinson, along with two grandchildren, Windi Lee Tomlinson and Angel Shane Willey.
Lois Lee was very proud of her three daughters and their families, who she leaves on this earth, Bob and Barbara Gee of Lubbock, Mary Beth and Jeff Willey of Littlefield, and Ethel Jean Tomlinson of Edinberg, all of whom will carry her home in their hearts and she will carry them home in her soul. "Aunt Lois", "Granny", "Momma", "Lois Lee", "Sister", whatever name you knew her by, she loved you as much as you loved her. The family suggests memorials to the Garrison Geriatric Center, 3710 4th St., Lubbock, Texas 79415.
