FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MELISSA TRIMBLE

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Melissa Trimble, Saturday, Dec. 24th in the Second Ward, by Bishop Henry Hatton. Mrs. Trimble died Thursday, Dec. 22, following a stroke which she suffered the previous Monday. She was born August 28, 1857 in Fillmore,in a little home up where Mrs. D. Hunter now lives. She was married to Joe Trimble, who died 25 years ago, this February. Mrs. Trimble has been an industrious, hard-working woman all her life and up to her last illness had enjoyed fairly good health. Only a few days before her death, friends had seen her up town doing her shopping.

Speakers at the services were Wm. D. Melville and Maurice Lambert, with Bishop Hatton offering the closing remarks. The opening prayer was offered by George Finlinson and the closing one by Pres. Arthur C. Brown. The choir, under the direction of Mrs. Stella Day sang three anthems, "Jesus Lover of My Soul", "There' A Long,Long, Trail" and "The Lord Is My Shepard". Vernon Peterson sang "The End of a Perfect Day". Internment was in the Fillmore Cemetry with Joseph Finlinson dedicating the grave.

Those who had came from out of town to attend were: Mrs. Barclay John,daughter)and four daughters: Mrs Nelson Melville, Mrs. Harvey Holman, Mrs. Lester Hadley, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford DeHaan; Mr. and Mrs. Davies Trimble and family; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Trimble, their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs Darrell Casper; Mr. Glen Trimble and daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Green all of Salt Lake City; Mr. Wilmer Trimble of Ely, Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Finlinson, Mr and Mrs. George Finlinson, Joshua Finlinson, Leon Finlinson and Jeff Finlinson of Lemington and Oak City.
