Funeral services for Ella Marcell McDaniel , 79, life-long resident of the Wagoner and Muskogee areas will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Muskogee, with Pastor Thea McKee officiating.

Marcell McDaniel was born March 16, 1928 to Jefferson Thomas and Nannie (Hicks) McDaniel. At an early age she attended the Sequoyah Indian School (1930s?) near Tahlequah, later graduating from Wagoner High School.

Marcel worked in the Tribal Operations Department of the Bureau of Indian Affairs for many years. She was a ‘camera bug', enjoying the opportunity to photograph family, friends and places she traveled throughout her work and life. She was a member of the Knife and Fork Club. Marcell passed away Friday, June 30, 2007 at Magnolia Gardens in Muskogee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Thurman McDaniel and Calvin McDaniel; and by her sisters, Inez Crocker and Agnes Treffrey. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Larry Crocker of Sapulpa, Kay Hunt of Midwest City, Luann Jenkins of Broken Arrow, Jim Treffrey , Sonny Treffrey, Tessa and Judy, all of Washington; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers for Marcell will be Larry Crocker, Terry Smart, Brady Hunt, Mike Jenkins, Sonny Treffrey and James Hargis. Funeral arrangements and interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner are under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
