Obituary:
Ezra Charles Roose, Son of Samuel and Mary Ann Roose, was born at the family home 1/2 mile South of Hamlet on Jan 3rd, 1861. Passed away Feb 25, 1939 at the age of 78 years, 1 mo., and 22 days.

He was married Apr. 4, 1882 to Susan E. Kryder of Goshen Ind who preceded him in death 35 years ago. To this union wa born 7 daughters and 4 sons. Surviving are 5 daughters and 3 sons: Mrs Mary Dougherty, Limon, Colo., Mrs Minerva Miller La Porte, Ind., Mrs Cora Hawley & Bertha Gearhart, Hamlet, Ind. Florence Roose Logansport Ind., Chas(Roose) Pasadena, Cal., Claude Roose, Miami Fla, There was a John Roose of Cal. also, he died about 1958.

Three children Mrs Hazel Strycker, Wilbur, and Zulu Zo Roose preceded their father in death. Later he married Mrs. Ella Hopkins. Surviving also are 4 sisters & 4 brothers, 17 grand children, & 19 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
