Betty M. Ramer, 82, of Peru passed away at her residence at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008.
She was born in Peru on February 9, 1926 to Cecil and Lola (Townsend) Banks, both deceased. She married Vermont L. Ramer in 1944, and he preceded her in death.
Betty lived in the area all her life and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Ramer of Peru; daughters Gloria Bockover and husband William, Maryann Fuqua and husband Merle, and Joyce Bockover, all of Peru; and a brother, Cecil Banks Jr. of Peru.
Betty is also survived by nine grandchildren: Lisa Bockover, William R. Bockover II and wife Rhonda, John Fuqua and wife Bobbey, Randy Fuqua, Lori Bostic and husband Bob, Carol Craw and husband Rich, Jason Ramer and wife Alania, Amy Savini and husband Travis, and Michael Bockover and Sherri. Also 15 great-grandchildren: Kelsey Bockover, Spencer Bockover, Travis Fuqua, Shayna Fuqua, Tiffany Fuqua, Kaylee Hileman, Morgan Craw, Averey Craw, Nora Beth Craw, Ethan Ramer, Emmalee Ramer, Whitney Savini, Trinity Bockover, Hope Bockover, and Brayden Bockover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son-in-law John Bockover, and a brother, Lewis Banks.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., with Pastor Kevin Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
