Funeral services for Cleo Cupp, 90, of Baskin, LA will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 24, 2008 in the Gill First National Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro, LA. Interment will follow in Coax Cemetery near Baskin with Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-9 pm at the funeral home.

He was born to John Randolph and Mary Alice Carl Cupp on June 19, 1918 in Athens TX and passed from this life Monday, October 21, 2008 in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Cupp, a retired farmer, was a veteran of the 9th Army Division where he served in the 19 Tank Battalion. He loved music and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Lily Anderson, Laura Bell Nations, and Edna McKenzie; and seven brothers: Roy Cupp, Wilburn Cupp, Johnny Cupp, Melvin Cupp, Loyd Cupp, Leonard Cupp and Chester Cupp.

Mr. Cupp leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Lucille Jordon Cupp of Baskin; two daughters Thelma Cupp Crook of Gilbert, LA and Peggy Cupp Purvis and husband Bob of Baskin; one son Donald Cupp and wife Beverly of Mangham; one brother, Floyd Cupp and wife Leona of Texas; grandchildren, Alan Cupp and wife Jennifer of Mangham, Christopher Cupp of Monroe, Angie Howard and husband Timmy of Gilbert, Buster Crook and wife Jan of Calhoun, Jeffery Purvis and wife Lynda of Baskin; great grandchildren Bryan Cupp, Lilly Cupp, Brittany Mathews, Amber Howard, Sami Crook, Alannah Crook, Matthew Purvis, and George Purvis; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be George Arender, Billy Joe Cupp, Scotty Cupp, Charlie Elkin, Cody Gallagher, and Donald Holley.
