Little is known of Janos' mother, but documentation could be found and verified of his father, Janos Galgoczy (1730 - 1807).

Janos Galgoczy, born 1750 in Csanakhegy, Gyor, Hungary, would be the great-great grandfather to Istvan Galgoczi and Rozalia Horvath. He has one sister, Erzsebet.

Between the years 1778 and 1779, Janos got married to Katalin Szentgyorgyi, born 1760 in Csanakhegy. Katalin died in 1789 (Csanakhegy); Janos died in 1804 (Kisbarat-
hegy, Gyor, Hungary). Janos and Katalin Szentgyorgyi had five children, all born in Csanakhegy.

1. Janos Galgoczy, born 1779, died 1835 Csanakhegy; he married Eva Stadler in 1802 (Csanakhegy).
2. Jozsef Galgoczy, born 1783 (he married Erzsebet Pinter).
3. Anna Galgoczy, born 1783; she married Pal Nemet; Anna died in 1834 (Csanakhegy).
4. Eva Galgoczy, born 1789, died 1789.
5. Istvan Galgoczy, born between 1787-1791 (he married Erzsebet Kiss).

Note: Jozsef Galgoczy (b.1783) and his brother, Istvan Galgoczi (b.1787-1791) had many children by their marriages. Their families will be noted separately.

Note: Three more children (making eight children altogether) were found for Janos Galgoczy and Katalin (Szentgyorgi) at Antal Galgoczi's genealogy site, Elizabeth and two others (names are unknown).
