This well-known nonagenarian died in this city yesterday afternoon at four o'clock, aged eighty-nine years, six months and thirteen days. For so aged a man he has been vigorous and active, and his faculties have been bright and keen. He was a very skillful mechanic, and the mosaic boxes which he made a few years ago surprised many with the excellence and delicacy of the work. His long life has been full of incident and for a great many years he has been a resident of this city.
The funeral will take place at two o'clock to-morrow afternoon, at No. 531 west Ransom street.
A few week ago this old gentlemen went to Mountain Home cemetery, as he has often done before to view the spot where he must soon he laid away—a spot which for more than a year past has been of great interest to him—-and in conversation with Sexton Borland said he was ready and anxious and even impatient to die and be laid away to rest. He looked forward with hope and longing to the end of time with him—and he expressed the wish that his funeral should be of the simplest kind. Kalamazoo Daily Telegraph March 22, 1866 page 7
