Edna H. Robb
Mrs. Edna Hetrick Robb, 96, of 524 Penn Street, Huntingdon, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, 3 January 1990, at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Although she had been in failing health, death was unexpected.
Born 29 December 1893, in Henderson Township, Huntingdon county, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lettie (Rupert) Hetrick. She was united in marriage with Chauncey R. Robb on 28 October 1937, in Philadelphia. Mr. Robb died in October 1971.
Two nieces and a nephew were reared in her home: Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Baker, Huntingdon, and Mrs. Ronald (Emma) Crockett, Lancaster, both of whom survive and William Hetrick, now deceased. Also surviving are another nephew and a number of nieces.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Robb was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McConnellstown. She was also a member of the Hartslog Valley Grange; the Auxillary to Standing Stone Post 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Huntingdon; and the Auxilary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
She was educated in the Huntingdon public schools and attended Huntingdon High School, but before graduating entered the Philadelphia Hospital (now Thomas Jefferson University Hospital) School of Nursing under an accelerated program. She graduated as a registered nurse.
She was employed over the years by several area physicians and did private duty nursing at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, 6 January, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Reverend Edward S. Gobrecht officiating. Interment will be in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon R.D. 1.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
