Son of Thomas and Mary E. Eggleston. Came from St Albans, VT to Ripon in 1853 with his son-in-law Albert M. Skeels at the age of 71. Back east he was inflential in political affairs and probate judge and was a member of the Congregational Church for almost 50 years and served as deacon. He was married to Huldah Moore and they had 4 children.
