Mr. Collins was born June 20, 1920, in Charleston, a son of the late Clarence B. Collins and Mrs. Meta Albertine W. Collins.
He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and a retired equipment specialist with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs.Jean Hicks Collins of Charleston; a son, Fred B. Collins Jr. of Charleston, a daughter, Miss Kathryn Patricia Collins of John's Island; a brother, Charles Edward Collins of Charleston.
