Christine was the wife of John Erik Turnquist and daughter of John Monson and Kerstin Olofsdotter Hyllengren. She immigrated with her family in 1869 when she was about five years old. She and John had six children: Inez, Irene, Myrtle, Monroe, Mildred, Lillian. Christine was an excellent seamstress and good mother to her family. She was active in the Swedish Mission Church, later named Lakeview Covenant Church.
