The late John Jump, who died not long since at his home in Polk County at the advanced age of 92 years, 7 months and 5 days, it is said, “boasted of never having taken a dose of medicine prescribed by a doctor, and never missed an opportunity to vote a Democratic ticket.” No wonder he lived to such a ripe old age.

Please note the headstone that was found and photo sent to me on April 10, 2016 from Darrin Inglis (4th great grandson of Fanny Wright 3rd wife of John Henry Jump Sr.).

A story here so far no one actually knows.

Hello, my name is Darrin Inglis and I was researching some information about John Jump Sr. I found his headstone and noted that on your research that it was missing. I have some river bottom ground not far from the old steel bridge that is pictured on the web. my grandmother said there was a cemetery down there. The stone is 130 years old & we have major flooding down on the lindley river at times, and was wondering if maybe it wash up because it rests in a low spot. however I have seen another head stone that was a Jump also close to the same spot but couldn't find it yesterday. it is narrow and flat, I am attaching a pic of the stone, and though it was very interesting and may not be in the right spot. Mr. Jump lived to be 93 and fought 2 wars and live a long life in the part of history.
thanks for your time
