Howard was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Marble Falls to Raymond and Grace Warden Hoover. He married Lillie Pearl Lapp on Dec. 21, 1941, in Eden. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II and was a test mechanic for General Dynamics. He was active in Our Savior Lutheran Church and Sky Harbor Volunteer Fire Department. He loved hunting and fishing and had lived in Granbury since 1985.
Survivors: Son, Jerry Lee Hoover; sister-in-law, Noni Lister, both of Granbury; brother-in-law, D.T. Carmichael of Hurst; nephews, John Raymond Hoover of San Ranion, Calif. and Michael Hoover of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; nieces, Toni Brown-Belew and Dee Collins of Granbury, Melody Schotte of Hurst, Tammy Glover of Albany and Lisa Davis.
