Lee David Proud, Jr. has passed away...
A 40-year resident of Fair Oaks, Calif., and a former employee of Aerojet and McClellan Air Force Base where he retired, he was born on Nov. 23, 1934, in LaPorte, Ind., and passed on April 29, 2008. He was one of eight children born to Lee D. Proud Sr. and Mildred (Holtz) Proud who are deceased. He was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy (Proud) Lawrence and Virginia Proud, and a brother, Donald Proud. He is survived by siblings: Joyce (Proud) Knox, twins, Jean (Proud) Wagner and Jane (Proud) Dopieralski. He graduated from LaPorte High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps for three years, attaining the rank of sergeant. He relocated to the Sacramento area where he worked, married his loving wife Nancy E. Proud, graduated college with a B.A. degree in History and raised two sons, Wes Lee Proud and Lee D. Proud III. He loved his family, dogs, reading history, and spending time at Inyo County and his property at Sierra County. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren, Skyler, Ashley, Hannah, and Braden Proud.
Military service and interment to be on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Fair Oaks Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. He lost his battle with cancer after a decade's fight. His spirit and energy have gone home to God. Our cherished memories of him will remain with us forever.
