Freda F. Pierce, 83, of Lubbock passed away October 16, 2008. Funeral services will take place 10 a.m. Saturday, October 18 in the Ford Chapel at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock. Rev. John Ballard and Rev. Randy Holman will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 17 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Freda was born September 27, 1925 in Archer County to parents Iva (Ragle) and Roland E. Dodd. She attended Business College as well as Texas Tech University. On June 2, 1946 in Lubbock, she was married to Billy J. Pierce. She had worked as a Customer Relations Officer for the First National Bank of Lubbock and later as Secretary to the Board of Regents of Texas Tech University, where she was employed until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Billy J. Pierce; daughter, Libby and husband Tom Moreland; two granddaughters, Leslie and husband Chris Sullivan, Lindsey and husband Eric Tekell; great-granddaughter, Brookelynn Sullivan; and sister, Margaret Porterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Elmer J. Dodd and Troy Dodd.
