Carl died peacefully, on Wednesday evening, October 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, at Chateau Gardens in Elmira. He celebrated his 83rd birthday on October
3rd. He is the beloved husband of Esther (Bingeman) - they were married for 52 years. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Ruth and her husband Lindsay Duffield of Unionville, David and his wife Patty Gascho of Kitchener, Jane and her husband Jim Schuett of Kitchener and Rob and his wife Angie Gascho of San Diego, CA. Carl's 11 grandchildren were very special to him, Jordan and Christian Duffield, Jonathan, Jamie and Jenna Gascho, Ryan and Bonnie, Christie, Jennifer and Richard Schuett, Audrey and TJ Gascho. He will also be fondly remembered by Roy and Martha Gascho of New Holland, PA, Lawrence and Jane Bingeman of Kitchener, Dora Bingeman of Kitchener and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Melinda (Steinman) and Emanuel Gascho; sister-in-law, Grace Gascho and brother-in-law, Jonas Bingeman. Gascho Motors Limited was started in 1926 by his father, Emanuel Gascho. Along with his brother, Roy, they carried on the family automotive business until their retirement in 1991. The third generation of the business continues to be operated today by Carl's son, David. After retirement, Carl lived his dream of being able to fish every day at his Muskoka cottage. He was a lifetime member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. Friends are invited to share their memories with Carl's family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Carl's life will be held at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, Kitchener, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will be held after the service, followed by a committal service at Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to House of Friendship, the Women's Missionary Association of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church or a charity of your choice. Condolences for the family and donations may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. Carl's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Chateau Gardens for the loving and attentive care he received.
