This is Milton M. Monroe. He was born 1818-1821 in Ohio. He was said to have been a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. He was married first to Effie Pownell in 1842, and they had four sons: Levi Monroe 1845-1914, C. Granville Monroe 1848-1889, Aaron Monroe abt. 1850-1902, and John B. Monroe 1854-1931.
His second wife was Henrietta R. Livengood 1839-1924. They married in 1856, and had eight children: Alice S. 1858-1940 (she married Kaufman), Sarah Jane Adelaide 1861-1919 (she married Bonner), Thomas W. "Jack" 1864- 1935, Charles H. "Charley" 1865- abt. 1940, Columbus L. "Lum" 1870- aft. 1930, Anna Louisa 1871-1943 (she married Bonner), James M. 1874- bef. 1913, Lemmer Frances 1878-1957 (she married Milam)
