He was born Dec. 5, 1900, to Walter and Jeanette (VandeGraft) Buzard in Gridley, Ill., where he grew up and received his education.
He married Lora Belle Farrell on June 23, 1920, in Lexington, Ill. They later moved to Hudson, Ill. They moved to Longview in 1925 and in 1932 moved to Leavenworth. He was a foreman for Butler Construction Co., building highway bridges and overpasses from 1925 until 1949.
He and his wife purchased a cherry orchard on Wenatchee Heights in 1949, and together with their son, Ken, they expanded the fruit ranch.
Survivors include his son, Wenatchee Heights; one daughter, Charlotte Buzard Costello, Whidbey Island; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1975, two brothers and two sisters.
