Viola Josephine Tkac Holiman, 86, of Midkiff, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Seminole Memorial Hospital. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, in the Arden Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Medley of the First Baptist Church of Rankin officiating.

Viola was born in Moulton, Texas, Lavaca County on Nov. 27, 1915.

She attended Komensky School and graduated high school in Shiner, Texas. After high school, she took nuring training in Fort Worth and later at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo where she met and married Odis M. Holiman on July 3, 1937. They were blessed with two children, Viola Marie Early of Midland, Texas and H. Lewis Holiman. She stayed at home and cared for the children during World War II and later attended San Angelo Business College before moving to Midland with her husband.

Viola worked for the City of Midland, Superior Oil Company of California and Union Oil Company of California before moving to the ranch. She and her husband acquired two ranches and enjoyed living on the ranch watching the quail and sheep. She loved to cook, garden and care for the yard. She was a wonderful wife, mother and one who loved God.

Viola was preceded in death by her son, H. Lewis Holiman.

Survivors are her husband, Odis Holiman of Midkiff; daughter, Viola Marie Early of Midland; friend, Cindy Spence of Seminole; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Robert Massie Funeral Home.
