James Robinson Dead

Word came here on Sunday morning the James Robinson, of near Weir, had suddenly passed away on Saturday night after a short spell of acute illness. For a couple of years he has been ailing more or less with heart trouble, but has been able to attend to business and to be about the farm. On Sunday, the day on which he died, he was out in the yard.

He would soon have been seventy years old. He was married about forty-one years ago. He and his wife came to this part of Kansas about forty years ago, and have been living on his farm nearly ever since. He has been a good citizen, splendid. He has been honest, respected, and considered one of the best financiers of Cherokee county. For many years he has been elected one of the commissioners of the county, to help straighten out their finances. In the early days he was a cattle raiser and has always been one of our foremost citizens. Everybody in both Crawford and Cherokee counties either know or know of James Robinson. He leaves a widow and two children.

His sister from Illinois arrived in time for the funeral which was held at the Christian church yesterday afternoon and he was buried in the Cherokee cemetery.
