Dr. Pauline Marie Harvey was born June 10, 1925 in Blue Jay. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Jackson Harvey and Lucy Alma Shrader Harvey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Howard Harvey.
Dr. Harvey was a Christian and member of the Princeton Advent Christian Church. She received her B.S. degree from Concord College, a master's degree from Marshall University, and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Harvey was a well-known and dedicated teacher in the public schools of Mercer County. She was also a professor at Glenville State College, Bluefield State College, Concord College, The College of Graduate Studies and Marshall University. In addition, she was a member of the Council of Exceptional Children, WVEA and Mercer County Retired Teacher's Association.
Survivors include her brother, James 'Jimmy' Harvey and wife, Eliza of Princeton, sister-in-law, Bernice 'Bee' Harvey of Princeton; two special neices, Toni Harvey Takarsh of Winfield, Carrie Beth Harvey of New York, NY, one special nephew Howard Lee Harvey and wife Debbie, special great-nephew, Travis Harvey and special great-neice, Heather Harvey all of Seymour, Tenn., and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at the Seavor Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Orville Harvey and Rob Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
